EGFSC Summer Competitive Soccer Information

The Summer Competitive Soccer Program offers youth athletes the opportunity to compete against other talented teams throughout the region and develop the skills to compete at a higher level.

Registration fees
$170 per athlete. Travel expenses are the responsibility of the participant.  Fees must be paid online via credit or debit card, offline payments not available at this time. Payment plans are available. Registration will close as teams are filled. First come, first serve.

In the event of a team not having the minimum number of registered players required to participate in the season, we will issue full refunds.  Refunds will not be issued for individuals missing tournament(s) or for teams needing to be dropped from tournament(s) due to lack of player availability.

What to expect
This program involves some travel to regional cities such as Detroit Lakes, Fergus Falls, Fargo/Moorhead and Grand Forks. Competition consists of cluster games vs other regional teams and at least one tournament.

Teams will generally practice one evening per week and will have one game per week on average.  We shoot for Tuesday/Thursdays for girls teams and Monday/Wednesdays for boys teams (schedules subject to change).  Except for tournaments and jamborees, games and practices will take place in the evening Monday through Thursday.  U9-U11 may have a few weekend games throughout the season depending on player availability. The season begins late May/early June and concludes in July. Summer soccer may overlap somewhat with spring rec, but players are still encouraged to sign up for both. Games will not be scheduled around the 4th of July holiday.

We do not require tryouts, our summer program is open to all players with prior experience at the rec level or above.

If a team does not have a designated goalie, each player will rotate a turn in the goal for a half game or full game at the coach's discretion.

Age groups
Summer teams consist of boys U9-U14 and girls U9-U19 age divisions.  See the chart below to determine age group.  While we will attempt to keep classmates together, this may not always be possible. Teams are divided up depending on the total number of registrations. Some age groups may need to be combined or split.

Equipment
Jerseys will be provided and must be returned at the end of the season.
Other required equipment: Shin guards, soccer socks, cleats, gloves (goalkeepers only) and ball.

Guest Players
If your player cannot commit to the full season but would like to be considered as a fill-in player for games and tournaments in a situation where a team is short, please send us an email!
